Beer, Beats, & BBQ
Summer BBQ, beer garden, and live DJ - sounds awesome, right? Join us on August 16 at the Southwood Community Hall for good food, cold beers, and the summer party vibe.
Note: BBQ items and drinks require purchase, event is free otherwise.
Southwood Repair Exchange and Back to School Swap
Bring your broken or damaged household items, and volunteer fixers will do their best to repair them on the spot for free!
Need a quick fix but don't have the supplies? We will have duct tape, super glue, wood glue, glass glue, WD-40, and more to repair small items yourself!
Alongside the repair exchange, there will be a back-to-school clothing and supply swap. Bring your extra new or gently used clothing and school/office supplies to share with others and pick up what you might need.

Southwood Apple Festival
Celebrating and sharing the bounty of apple and other fruit trees in Southwood.
In September, we will be requesting donations of good-quality apples, pears, grapes or other fall fruit.
1-2 identified fruit/clusters for an educational display
10-15 identified fruit for the tasting
*Any surplus fruit will be shared among attendees and/or donated to food rescue organizations.
Let us know if you need help picking your fruit tree.

Hair Workshop for Parents
Learn 3 easy hair styles for your kids with medium/long length hair! A Hands-On Workshop for Parents & Caregivers!
Join us for a fun, hands-on workshop led by a local Southwood resident and hairstylist! Learn how to style your child’s hair with easy everyday looks like a pony braid, 2 rope braids, and a high bun. This is a great opportunity for moms, dads, and all caregivers to bond with their kids while picking up some practical skills. Kids are encouraged to come so you can learn and practice together in real time. Snacks provided!

- Details about becoming an official City of Calgary Volunteer.
