Volunteering at Southwood CA for 5 years
I've called Southwood home for most of my life, having moved to Canada from Bosnia in 1995. After earning a degree in Anthropology and Environmental Science from the University of Calgary, I embarked on a career in Oil and Gas for 7 years. However, my passion for entrepreneurship led me to found Calgary Urban Recycling and Marketspot, an arts organization that curates pop-up events across Calgary. With a deep-seated appreciation for local businesses and community support, this endeavor felt like a natural progression.
My wife, Paweena, and I cherish our time with our two young boys, often found enjoying the outdoors in our yard or exploring the nearby parks. We're thrilled to be part of such a vibrant and family-friendly neighborhood.

Hi, I'm Claire! I've lived in Southwood for just over ten years now with my husband and dog. This is an amazing neighbourhood that seems to be getting closer and closer to the inner city each year. This is my second year on the Southwood Community Association Board and I'm really excited to continue helping to bring the community together and have some fun! In my free time, I love to draw, sew, garden, get out into nature, and learn new things. If you see me at an event, come say hi!
