Facilities and Hall Rental

The Southwood Community Hall is located at 11 Sackville Drive SW. We have two separate rooms available for rent for both weekend events and a number of regular weekday morning and afternoon time slots available starting immediately!

With a Southwood Community Membership, you get the benefit of discounted rental fees and the opportunity to promote your programs on our website, social media channels and in the local newsletter for no extra cost! The Chateau Room

The Chateau Room is the Hall’s largest room and can accommodate up to 90 for a seated dinner or 100 for a stand-up reception.

Note: The Chateau Room is located on the second floor (via stairs), however the entrance and washrooms are located on the ground level.

We supply upholstered chairs, and we have both round and rectangular tables to choose from. Whether round or rectangular, tables seat eight people comfortably.

Our magnificent stone hearth has a gas fireplace insert, and makes a beautiful backdrop for photographs.

The wet bar on the west wall boasts a large commercial fridge, deep enough to accommodate standard sized catering trays. Note: the bar does not provide a stove, oven or microwave for warming up food. Renters will need to supply their own glassware, dishes, cutlery, coffee supplies and linens.

The Pioneer Room

The Pioneer Room can accommodate groups of up to 50, and is accessed via a short flight of stairs. The Pioneer Room’s washrooms are located on the same floor. Renters have access to a basic (non-commercial) kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, coffee maker and kettle. Renters will need to supply their own glassware, dishes, cutlery, coffee supplies and linens.

Skating rinks

There are two outdoor rinks south of the Community Hall, open until 11 pm daily during the winter.
