Celebrate Earth Day April 22, 2012
What will you do this year to commemorate the 42nd anniversary of Earth Day? Looking for ideas to take action? The Calgary Public Library is your place to start. As proud supporters of sustainable initiatives and environmental awareness, we have great resources for you to get started!
Our Eco-Action blog will keep you updated with new and interesting green news. Find it on our website at http://calgarypubliclibrary.com/blogs/eco-action. Or check out our E-Library which has a great database called GREENR under our Science, Technology & Environment heading. It is a global reference on the environment, energy, and natural resources complete with videos, a blog, and much more.
Another way to go green is to get involved with the Encana Common Ground Community Garden at Southwood Library. Garden planning meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month, from 7:00-8:30pm at the Southwood Library. There are a lot of opportunities to get involved, whether you have experience with construction, gardening, or just want to get involved and meet others in your neighbourhood. Speak to a staff member in person or call us at 403-221-2082 for more details.
