Royal Canadian Air Cadets
Looking for an exciting adventure? Are you interested in flying, gliding, sports or drill? Royal Canadian Air Cadets offers these activities and much more! If you are 12 to 19 years of age, we encourage you to COME FLY WITH US!
The cadet program promotes responsibility, community service and good citizenship. Cadets receive training in flying, gliding, leadership, public speaking, organization skills and self-confidence. Optional activities include band, sports (biathalon, range and volleyball) and drill (competitive and precision). As cadets move up through the ranks on the basis of skills they have developed over the year, they take on increasing levels of responsibility and are involved in training younger members.
Cadets are encouraged to develop a knowledge of flying by taking regular two-hour weekend flights in our own 604 squadron four-seater Cessna 172 aircraft. There are usually two gliding sessions per year as well as weekend and summer camps. Senior cadets can earn cadet scholarships to obtain gliding and private pilot’s licences over the summer.
The air cadet program is provided free of charge including uniforms, summer camps and all cadet activities.

Junior Forest Wardens
The Junior Forest Warden (JFW) program is a challenging and rewarding outdoor-oriented experience designed to develop an awareness, appreciation and respect for our natural environment, and responsible use of this environment. Club activities are planned around the four foundations of the JFW program, forestry, ecology, outdoor skills and leadership.
Perhaps the most unique aspect of Junior Forest Warden program is the degree to which parents, siblings, friends and relatives are involved. Entire families are encouraged to take part in club functions. While officially registered wardens fall between the ages of 6 – 18, most activities provide an enjoyable learning opportunity for every age. In fact, the most successful clubs are those in which the entire family actively participates. Junior Forest Wardens is for everyone who loves the outdoors!
Opportunities exist for wardens to expand their experience beyond the club level through provincial activities such as campouts, conferences and summer camps.
Clubs across Calgary and area meet at various times and locations, for more information, please check out our website at: Junior Forest Wardens or phone at: 1-866-94-GO-JFW or 1-866-944-6539
